Our History

Cottage Country Pest Control has been around awhile – since about 2008.

Initially, it was Ross’s business. He did the pest control; Lauralee did the geek stuff – if and when she had time between teaching at Georgian and doing graduate studies at Trent University and hanging out with the grandbaby and the day care kids and….. well, you know how it is. Some people are just always busy.

But in late 2020, Ross fell off a ladder, leaving his helper stranded up on a roof. He did manage to get the ladder set up again – mostly one-handed, since his shoulder was a mess. But that was that. He decided it was time to retire, effective immediately.

But Lauralee wasn’t ready to just walk away from the whole thing. After several months of discussion, she and her youngest daughter, Jessa, decided to give pest control a try. Ross thought they were crazy – it would never work!

Which of course only fueled their determination to succeed. Turns out that even though neither would ever have expected to wind up in pest control, they both enjoyed it, and have continued since. Ross is fine now, by the way. Just has no interest in coming back to it.

So. Here we are. Caring for your environment in Simcoe County, Tay and Tiny Townships, Severn and Honey Harbour, and beyond.

Although we are based in Victoria Harbour ON, we get around a fair bit. Several of our cottage customers, for example, have asked us to take care of their Toronto homes as well – and when we can, we do. And of course, we couldn’t just drop all of our most loyal customers from up around Parry Sound, and Gravenhurst, and Bracebridge, and Brechin, and … you get the idea. Some of them have been with us since Ross first started way back when!

And we appreciate you all – even when it means a lot of driving.
