New & somewhat improved quote form

Made a couple of changes to the Quote form for your…well, no, really… my convenience. Added a spot for an explanation of when people choose “Other” and also made providing an email address required.

If by chance it was you that asked for a quote re: an 800 sq ft (water access) cottage recently and never got a reply, that would be why! No email address means I have no way to contact you.  Please do try again!

And thanks for motivating me to finally stop thinking darn, I need to fix that “Other” thing (which I’ve been doing for WAY too long) and getting me to actually get ‘er done.

In other news, we’ve had a very, very busy few days and even though I THINK I have everything sorted out now, I definitely couldn’t swear to it. If you are waiting for something from me, please do feel free to remind me!

You can always reach us by phone at 705-534-7863, or email me at ccpestcontrol@gmail.com .

Holy hopping!!!!

Has been SO busy ’round here – for days – and the phone just keeps ringing!

I feel bad that I need to head off to Oshawa to pick up my daughter’s car to bring back here…. but if you do need help with pests, please do email us at ccpestcontrol@gmail.com or call 705-534-7863 and Ross or I will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Even though we are hopping, we are still getting to most everyone within a day or two so no worries on that score. Well, except for you island people 🙂  Those calls take a bit more time & arranging – but we’re pretty much caught up on those right now too, so yay us.

Anyway, gotta go *sigh* I don’t wanna!!!!!!!!

Rainy days & spider sprays

Darn rain!!!

Got Ross’ calendar filled and then some – and the bleeping rain just messed that all up.

Truth is that it doesn’t actually have to bring everything to a standstill; rain doesn’t actually wash the product we use away once it’s set (about 20 minutes) …. so he COULD still spray and as long as it doesn’t pour immediately afterwards, it would work just fine.

BUT, we have discovered, people just don’t believe that 🙂

And since we want our customers to be happy and believe, yeah, we delay or reschedule exterior spider sprays on rainy days.

Fortunately for today, we had some carpenter ants and wasps we could move into the freed up space…. we’ll try again for sprays tomorrow if the weather cooperates…. weather network isn’t exactly being encouraging though!

If there’s anything Ross can help you with, give us a call at 705-534-7863, or email me at ccpestcontrol@gmail.com …. we’re pretty busy this time of year but we will fit you in one way or another. And yes, weekend appointments are available for you cottagers.

Answering the phone at Cottage Country Pest Control

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Just so’s you know, Cottage Country Pest Control is basically just Ross & I…. run from our home in Victoria Harbour. We do a pretty good job of making sure our phone gets answered when we can BUT I do teach in Barrie on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so if you’re looking for a quicker response then, email is often the way to go.

And THIS weekend, May 13 – 15, I need to go help my kids move to their new place in Oshawa, so …. yeah…. email is, again, the most likely to get the quickest response.

Of course, you can always leave a message on the phone and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Your convenience or ours?

These days when I’m responding to quote requests, I’m more often giving two prices – one if the job is at “your convenience” or a discounted price for “at ours”.

Guess it wouldn’t hurt to explain that!

Your convenience means you want to be there, with a set appointment date and time and all that fun stuff. For some jobs, such as carpenter ants, bedbugs or mice, obviously since we need entry, most times those are going to have to be appointments.

But for exterior only jobs like spider sprays, “at ours” makes scheduling ever so much easier. I put them on his calendar off to one side and pull them over around other appointments to where they best make sense. And/or, when we get a few in a particular area, I plug them into empty spaces as a group. Flexibility helps us for scheduling, and it also means that when an urgent call (that almost always means bedbugs) comes up, we can often get to it faster.

I do still let you know, usually a day ahead, when he is planning to come so that you can make sure windows are closed, though.

Either way, Cottage Country Pest Control is happy to help you with all of your pest control needs. Just give us a call at 705-534-7863, email us at ccpestcontrol@gmail.com, or fill out the quote form and I will be happy to add you to Ross’ calendar.
